Susan D. Conway

Susan D. Conway, received her Ph.D. in adult technical training from
California State University, and is considered an expert in online
communities and knowledge management. Dr. Conway gained expertise in
these areas during her tenure as the Executive Director of the
Information Work Productivity Council (IWPC). As IWPC Director, Dr.
Conway led a consortium of industry and academic experts in their
research of new productivity models and processes aimed at helping
businesses improve information work.
Prior to IWPC, Dr. Conway managed Microsoft’s Consulting Services
Worldwide KM Communities of Practices program and served as the
program manager for Worldwide Skills & Resource Management. Dr.
Conway also spent a number of years developing and managing
corporate skills, resource allocation and technical project
management programs in large enterprises such as Texaco Refining &
Marketing, Computer Sciences Corp, NCR & Microsoft.
Dr. Conway has published the book Unlocking Knowledge Assets, Feb
2002, and was a contributing author to The Handbook on Knowledge
Management.
Dr. Conway is currently working in the areas of measurement and
valuation of information, online communities and knowledge
management. She also recently completed a special assignment
tailored specifically for the needs of the U.S. Air Force and
commercial customers called Productivity Impact Framework (PIF)
which is a new framework for measuring information-centric work.
